INSTRUCTOR BIO:

As a child, Tony drew constantly, filling volumes with drawings, paintings, sketches, and notes. All that work eventually paid off. In high school, Tony was selected to participate as one of the top 60 artists in the state of Pennsylvania in an exclusive summer program called The Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts, held annually at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania. In addition, Tony single-handedly founded, organized and ran his high school's first ever after-school art club, where he tutored students on art history and helped with art class projects.

In 2006, Tony graduated Summa Cum Laude from nationally accredited institution: Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in the Fine Arts. His focus was in graphic design and illustration. Tony minored in art history specializing in Classical and Renaissance art.

During college, Tony was the two time recipient of the Ralph Reynolds Memorial Painting Scholarship, and one time winner of the Joanne Lovette Memorial Scholarship and Robert Alico, Jr., Memorial Scholarship. He was selected to participate in Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Annual Juried Exhibition for four consecutive years. It was at this time that Tony also won three first place awards at the Origins Game Conference International Art Exhibition held annually in Columbus, Ohio. Tony also particpated in the 2006 Pittsburgh Comicon as a guest artist, and gave private art classes to high school and college students on the side.

Tony began working professionally as a graphic designer while he was still in school, and after graduating in 2006 moved to New York City to work as an art director at Advantages design agency. In 2007, Tony became a finalist in the critically acclaimed international juried digital art annual: Expose 5. In 2009, Tony was selected by Artery Magazine as a featured artist for the month of October, and has been invited by multiple colleges across the Northeastern United States to give guest lectures and critiques to students.

Tony is currently pursuing his MFA degree in illustration from New York City's School of Visual Arts while working for Apple, Inc., giving art lessons, and freelancing.
